'Others' hit the studio to record ode to Black Metal "Our Hearts Turn Black"
Marquis Mr. Webb J.R. Rotting Frank ROTregez
Binghamton NY's gothic horror metalers hit the studio June 8th to begin recording their long awaited ode to Black Metal.
The album features 6 songs including the 19 minute opus "666". The lyrics were written by long time friend and highly acclaimed death poet Troy Usher. It will also feature a guest appearance by Les Hernandez of The Quintessentials / The Church of Satan. The vocal duties will be handled by long time friend of the band Frank (Panda) ROTregez. The album is being recorded at Mansion Audio in Binghamton NY by Jeff DaBella (Dena, Auto Pilot Off).
When asked about the story behind the album, front man Marquis replied, "Bill (Mr. Webb) and I were just banging out some riffs one night when he said, "Dude, you should totally write a Black Metal album!" You see, we listen to a lot of Black Metal and I thought to myself "Wow! This could be really challenging." So I went home with the idea festering in my head and the riffs just started flowing. I showed up at the next practice with some killer riffs and a couple of songs already written and I blew Bill away... HA HA HA!
Our ode if you will, was born out of what has inspired us, enthralled us and enticed us. What has kept the blood boiling and fed a hunger that only this music can fulfill. The screaming guitars, the thunderous drums, the screeching, growling vocals.
Bands such as 1349, Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, Emperor, Immortal, Belphegor, Burzum, Carpathian Forest, Merciful Fate, Venom, Deicide, Dimmu Borgir, Enthroned, Celtic Frost, Ov HELL, Mayhem, Satyricon and Gorgoroth, Wolves in the Throne Room, Abigail Williams to name a few..."
